Summer is in full swing here in the Cotswolds and it’s very welcome indeed! We’re just a few weeks away from our freedom day when (hopefully!) most Covid restrictions will be lifted. And, thanks to the Boot Room, we’re very well turned out indeed…

Summer sunshine is here!
As big fans of the summertime, we’re delighted that the sun has come out to play and we’ve been treated to plenty of warm weather so far. That meant digging out those beautiful bright and cool summer clothes and starting to show a little bit of leg – hurrah! Even if you adore the country style which works so well in the cooler months – long leather boots, tweed, cashmere sweaters and jeans – there’s something liberating about stepping out knowing it will be sunny all day long and a jacket isn’t needed. Long, lazy evenings in the balmy evening sun are a wonderful way to catch up with people after restrictions end.
Like so many people, we’ve been working at home and with meetings mainly conducted via Zoom for around 18 months. While founder Tara loves to rock a dress even for home working, for others the chances to dress up have been few and far between. 2021 is already looking up with the return of hen dos, weddings, race days and other special occasions. Even a meal with friends, evening at the local pub or a BBQ are excuses to dress up and feel good.
Stylish made-to-measure boots
And all that daydreaming about summer socialising meant starting work with a dreamy new client in June was perfect timing. The Boot Room, a fellow Cotswold-based business run by the lovely Rebecca, sells all manner of gorgeous country footwear. The boots are all imported from Spain where they are crafted from high quality suede and leather by expert craftspeople. Customers can choose made to measure boots or off the shelf boots, and select from a wide range of colours. Boots paired with floaty dresses is such a fab trend for summer 2021, even popping up in Vogue this month!
Two of our favourite styles of ankle boots for summer are the Capri Suede Ankle Boots, shown here in the most beautiful baby blue. There’s also a divine pair of pale pink Tortola Suede Ankle Boots! Pair them with straight or skinny leg jeans and a pretty cami or vest top to step out in style! These pastel shades have been all over fashion magazines this year, and they look wonderful with cool summer whites too.
Gorgeous cowgirl boots
There was a big squeal of excitement in TPPR HQ when we saw the gorgeous cowgirl boots on the Boot Room website. 2021 sees Western style firmly in fashion which is great news because these boots are just so comfortable. We love styling cowboy boots for summer, pairing them with prairie-style tea dresses, denim shorts and floaty, boho-style skirts. There’s so much to play with – ruffles, tribal designs, fringes, gingham, or floral prints. And cowboy boots in different lengths and styles will work with all of them. Again, these can be made in any colour you like and to custom sizes, so make sure you head over to the Boot Room website for a good browse…!
