Just a couple of months ago, I felt at a crossroads. I had launched my business officially months before, having been covering all aspects of PR, Journalism and Social Media for a couple of years. I had so many ideas I was desperate to implement yet I was baffled as to how best to start! At a women’s only networking event in Bristol (Come Network With Me – it’s fantastic, really!) I met Linda, a specialist business coach and started explaining what I wanted to achieve. The rest, they say, is history.
I will admit, I was rather nervous at my first meeting with Linda. I didn’t feel I deserved a business coach, nor did I feel confident to talk openly with one. Yet as soon as I sat down, all those troubles disappeared. We had coffee, cake and a chat. The time flew by. I told Linda my history, my current feelings for my business, any issues I was facing and my plans for the future – of which I had too many!
I jumped from one client to another, from one issue to another and from one dream to another. I don’t really know how Linda kept up!
At the end of the first meeting, Linda had already established the areas of my business that made me most proud; earned me the most amount of money; contributed the least amount of stress. From there, we had an action plan!
The clarity at the end of this first session continued to grow. At the end of each session I was given some actionable notes with which to complete before my next session, 4 weeks later. But the session didn’t end there – if I had any questions, queries, concerns or celebrations to share, Linda was always there. I even joked with a friend that I felt the need to text her every achievement as I was so proud of how the business was growing, thanks to her guidance and support.
At the end of my 3 initial sessions, spanning over 12 weeks, I was confident that working with Linda has resulted in more business – more sales and International clients. She has a real no bullsh*t attitude so excuses are not welcome! Which for me, is great. I don’t need a walkover, I need someone who’s going to put their foot down and help carve the very best version out of me.
Linda has helped me go for clients I thought were out of my league. And why would they be? I am in an expert in my field and have a huge passion for the equine and rural industries. Despite Linda herself not specialising in these areas, she certainly specialises in business coaching. And that’s all that matters.
