The eventing season is getting into full swing, with plucky combinations tackling some of the earlier events in the British Eventing calendar. And some of the sport’s most high-profile events, such as Badminton and Gatcombe, just around the corner. All those long months of preparation give way to just a few exciting minutes of fast and furious cross-country action. Where riders have the chance to show their personality, as well as their riding skills.
FoxyEquestrian is a Wiltshire-based company creating bespoke cross-country sets in the most incredible array of colours and fun designs. Their brilliant decorations and ‘anything is possible’ ethos really raise them above the competition. As well as helping their customers stand out from the crowd.
From dream to design creation
Here’s how a bespoke cross-country set is designed:
Choosing the hat silk style: customers can build their own cross-country colours choosing from 24 Lycra hat silk colours or eleven velvet shades. Then they can add either a faux fur pom (or double-pom if you’re feeling the poms) in one of the 10 faux fur shades available. Or go for a traditional button top to their silk or velvet, if they prefer.
Bringing in the base layer: Customers then choose from 16 different base layer colours. Normally matching up with their hat silk, but sometimes going for a truly eye-catching combination of colours.
Finally, the FoxyEquestrian magic: There are an amazing 30 vinyl colours to choose from to personalise the cross-country colours. They can be made in a plain or sparkly finish. It is then totally up to the customer to choose what shapes they want to have. To date Foxy have produced Welsh dragons, running foxes, tractors, flamingos, pirate-style skull and cross-bones and unicorns. There is also a more traditional range of shapes such as stars, hearts, spots and four-leaf clovers.
If you can think it, Sophie can create it!
Whatever someone wants on their cross-country set, FoxyEquestrian’s founder and designated head honcho of design Sophie Sacco is willing to have a go at creating it! She also adores the chance to try something new. So if a customer has a design in mind that hasn’t been done before Sophie will be a willing partner in helping to make it a reality.
