High summer is very nearly upon us here in the UK and with it come some truly exciting events! The formal ‘English summer season’ might now be a thing of the past. But the social calendar that it encompassed takes in some wonderful high-profile sporting events. Plus, they are at some of the UK’s most swoon-worthy locations. Glorious Goodwood, Wimbledon, Guards Polo and Henley Royal Regatta are all international events that represent the pinnacle of their respective sport. With this in mind I’m ensuring my fingers are firmly crossed for plenty of sunshine!
The Dreaded Dress Code
The dress code for certain enclosures at these events can be really rather strict. They may demand skirts on or below the knee. No spaghetti straps, covered shoulders and a hat or large fascinator. While they might seem a little restrictive when you are first presented with them, these rules can actually lend a new and ladylike slant to the way you dress. If your usual ensemble comprises jeans, long boots and a smart shirt (or a threadbare gilet and jodhpurs!) then getting dressed in dresses and hats might just be fun. Once you are prised away from the denim…
