Are you doing your own PR and social media?
As a small or start-up business, you’ve probably found yourself trawling Twitter, figuring out Facebook and scrolling continuously through Instagram, looking for inspiration of what to post next, often wasting valuable time.
As a business owner, time is particularly precious. There’s very little of it to start with (where the time goes, I’ll never know) therefore you need to be super efficient with the time you have available if you are to get your ever growing to do list done. Whilst in an ideal world, you’d probably wish to outsource your social media, freeing up more of your time to focus on expanding your business, gathering sales and maintaining your happy customers, as a small start-up, this is often one of the things you think you can manage yourself. Yet interestingly, it’s also the last thing you do.
Whichever industry you’re in or whatever path your business takes, social media is often the ‘chore’, the task you do if and when you have time. Whereas emails, website management, getting clients and sorting sales all takes priority and a lot of time with it. Yet, look from a different perspective. A potential client might find you on social media, and certainly won’t think highly of your business if your last post was 2 months ago. Just food for thought…
With this in mind, I’ve launched PR Top Tip Thursday. Each Thursday I’ll be sharing my favourite tip of the week, to help you manage your social media more professionally. I can’t find you the extra time you need, but I can help your business pages look as professional as they can, so that the few posts you do make are well presented, received and suitable for the channel.
